Singer, composer, and songwriter who released the hit "Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe" and won three Grammy Awards.
He had a squeaky voice that deepened during adolescence, so much so that his mother cried tears of joy at her son's maturation.
Allmusic.com credits him with being the first singer to play disco music before the 1970s disco era.

The Jesse Owens Award, named after him, is considered the highest honor for track and field athletes

Henry Hudson

English navigator who conducted sea explorations in the early seventeenth century. He discovered a river in New York for the Dutch East India Company, who named it the Hudson River.
He spent many years at sea, starting in the position of cabin boy before eventually reaching the level of captain.
He discovered the Hudson River in 1609, initiating the Dutch colonization of New York.

Recording artist who was a finalist on the third season of American Idol. She then transitioned into acting and won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Effie White in the 2006 film Dreamgirls.
She dropped out of Langston University due to homesickness and dislike of the weather and instead enrolled in Kennedy-King College.
Her song "Love You I Do" won the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture in 2008.

Actor who won the 2001 Hollywood Breakthrough Award for New Male Stylemaker for his performance as Brian O'Conner in The Fast and the Furious. He reprised his role in five Fast and the Furious sequels and also played prominent roles in the films Varsity Blues, Pleasantville and The Lazarus Project. He tragically died in a car crash in November 2013 in Santa Clarita, California.
He began modeling and working as a child actor at age two, appearing in commercials for Pampers and Showbiz Pizza. In 1985, he earned minor roles in shows such as Touched by an Angel and Highway to Heaven.
He earned a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and his grandfather was a professional boxer.
